Christine Sanford creates color‑driven abstractions that explore relationships between hue, space, and surface tension. Her process is rooted in experimentation — adjusting, layering, and shifting color combinations until each painting finds its own balance and energy. Sanford works with rags, brushes, gravity‑driven drips, and a range of mark‑making tools to build texture and movement, embracing chance, uncertainty, and the inevitability of mistakes as integral to her practice. Each new painting becomes an open field for discovery, guided by intuition and the behavior of the paint itself.

Ground Shipping:
Most purchases are shipped to arrive within 5 to 7 business days of receipt of the order.


All orders from our inventory are shipped via UPS Ground. Furniture & Area Rug orders will be drop-shipped by our partners.

Expedited Shipping:
All orders placed before 12pm Monday-Friday will be shipped out the same day. Orders placed after 12pm Monday-Friday will be shipped out the morning of the next business day. Orders placed on Saturday, Sunday or holidays will be shipped the next business day.

This item is available for free on-island delivery & curbside pickup. 

Returns & Exchanges: 
If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will gladly offer you an exchange or refund of the merchandise price within 30 days of receipt of product. To begin a return, please email us at returns@nantucketlooms.com to request a return label and state your reason for returning. The cost of shipping will be deducted from the amount of your refund. Please note that original shipping charges are non-refundable, unless the item received is incorrect or damaged.
